Temple is an urban campus, so this guide sticks to what you can walk to from class. Main Campus runs along North Broad Street, with Cecil B. Moore Avenue cutting across it and Liacouras Walk and Polett Walk tying the middle of campus together. The university's own address is 1801 N. Broad St. Be honest with yourself about what you'll find here: this is a campus of classrooms, dorms and quick food, not a shopping street. What it does have is close together and cheap, and most of it sits within a few blocks of the Cecil B. Moore subway stop.

Polett Walk. The Temple Campus Store (1210 Polett Walk) is in the renovated Paley Hall, in the middle of campus. It sells official Temple gear, school supplies and dorm items, and it's where you pick up course materials.

13th Street. Inside the Howard Gittis Student Center, Temple Thrift at the Hub (1755 N. 13th St.) sells low-cost clothing, shoes, accessories and other essentials to Temple students, and the money goes to the Student Emergency Aid Fund. A few blocks north, Klein College students can borrow free interview clothes from the Klein College Career Closet (Annenberg Hall, Room 7, 2020 N. 13th St.).

The Student Center food court. The same building, the Howard Gittis Student Center at 1755 N. 13th St., has the second food court on campus: Chick-fil-A, BurgerFi, Which Wich, Twisted Taco, Zen, Wingstop and Saladworks. There are PNC ATMs on the upper level of the atrium and a Philadelphia Federal Credit Union branch on the lower level.

Broad Street at Morgan Hall. The Morgan Hall food court at 1601 N. Broad St. is the campus's main cluster of quick food: honeygrow, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Freshëns Fresh Food Studio and the Kosher Corner, which opened in November 2025. More on these under Eat Nearby.

Food trucks. Temple says more than three dozen food trucks park on and around campus and stay put through the day, selling everything from cheesesteaks and coffee to halal, burritos, bibimbap, smoothies and saag paneer. The university keeps a live map of where they are on its food truck page.

For official Temple gear, go to the Temple Campus Store (1210 Polett Walk). It's run by Follett Higher Education, Temple's store partner, and moved into the renovated Paley Hall with more merchandise, school supplies, dorm items and pickup for course materials. Hours per the university: Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, closed Sunday.

Plan around those hours on game days and during move-in. Visiting on a Sunday? Shop on Saturday instead. Temple also publishes a list of off-campus retailers that carry licensed Temple products, but none of them are on campus. The campus store is the one place to buy official gear on Main Campus.

Start on campus. The Temple Campus Store stocks dorm items and school supplies, so it covers the small stuff you forgot to pack. Temple Thrift at the Hub is the cheap option for clothes, shoes and everyday essentials, open Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm this fall. Students who need help can ask the Hub for a Temple Thrift Pass, which covers free items such as professional wear, Temple apparel and winter clothing.

For a full grocery run or a big load of towels, bins and bedding, we couldn't confirm a store near campus with a current listing, so plan one trip downtown. The last section covers where to go and how to get there.

Close to campus, the secondhand option is Temple Thrift at the Hub (1755 N. 13th St.), which sells clothing, shoes and accessories to students at low prices. For a job interview, Klein College students can get free professional clothes from the Klein College Career Closet (2020 N. 13th St.), and Temple's Career Center runs The Wardrobe for discounted and free professional attire.

For records, vintage and sneakers, students head off campus. Fishtown is the nearest of our shopping districts for thrift and vinyl, and Center City's Fashion District has the sneaker and fast-fashion stores. Both are in the last section.

For a graduate, the Temple Campus Store is the place for official Temple merchandise. If your graduate needs a cap and gown, Temple Thrift at the Hub gives graduating students free regalia, and takes regalia donations all year, so it's worth passing yours on afterward.

For parents' weekend, keep it simple. Pick up Temple gear for the family at the campus store on Saturday, since it's closed Sunday, then take everyone to dinner on North Broad (see below).

Morgan Hall, 1601 N. Broad St. honeygrow is open daily 10:30am to 10pm, with in-store kiosks and order-ahead pickup. Chick-fil-A is open Monday to Friday 11am to 8pm and closed weekends. In the same food court you'll find Panda Express, Freshëns Fresh Food Studio, and the Kosher Corner, which makes deli sandwiches, soups, stuffed pastries and vegan and vegetarian plates to kosher standards.

Student Center, 1755 N. 13th St. A few blocks north of Morgan Hall, the Howard Gittis Student Center food court covers burgers (BurgerFi), subs (Which Wich), tacos (Twisted Taco), wings (Wingstop), salads (Saladworks), Zen and a second Chick-fil-A. Temple points to its dining website for current hours, so check there before you go.

Food trucks. For coffee and a cheap lunch between classes, the trucks are the student answer. Check Temple's food truck map for who's parked where.

A parents' dinner. When family is in town, Honeysuckle (631 N Broad St), farther south on North Broad Street, is MICHELIN Recommended for its Afro-centric prix fixe cooking, with seats at the bar, a communal table or couches.

Subway: all local Broad Street Line trains stop at Cecil B. Moore Station, at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

Regional Rail: all lines stop at Temple University Station, at 10th and Berks streets. Buses: Routes 4 and 16 stop on Broad Street at Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Montgomery Avenue, Polett Walk and Norris Street. Route 23 runs on 12th Street southbound and 11th Street northbound.

Parking: Liacouras Garage is on 15th Street between Montgomery and Cecil B. Moore avenues, and Montgomery Avenue Garage is on 11th Street between Montgomery Avenue and Berks Street. Both take cash and cards. Metered surface lots are on Montgomery Avenue between 12th and 13th streets and on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 12th and 13th streets, with ParkMobile accepted.

Center City. Take the Broad Street Line south from Cecil B. Moore to City Hall and walk east on Market Street to the Fashion District. Primark (901 Market St) is the best dorm stop for cheap towels, storage and home goods, and Burlington Coat Factory (925 Market St) next door has coats and discounted home goods. A short walk away at Reading Terminal Market, Iovine Brothers Produce (daily 8am to 6pm) is the stand for fruit and vegetables.

Fishtown. East of campus, Fishtown is the closest of our districts for secondhand. Circle Thrift (2233 Frankford Ave) sells clothing, books and home decor at low prices, and Philadelphia Record Exchange (1524 Frankford Ave) buys, sells and trades used vinyl, cassettes and CDs.
