Every hotel in this guide, mapped. MICHELIN Key hotels are gold pins.
Rittenhouse Row is the best overall — it puts you within walking distance of Walnut Street luxury shops, Jewelers' Row, Antique Row, and dozens of restaurants. If you want something more creative, Fishtown (Hotel Anna & Bel) is ideal for vintage, indie boutiques, and the city's best new restaurant scene. For King of Prussia Mall, stay on Mall Boulevard or DeKalb Pike — the Hyatt House and Hilton Valley Forge are both walkable.
Launched in 2024, the MICHELIN Key is the hotel equivalent of the MICHELIN Star. It rates hotels on five criteria: the excellence of the architecture and interior design, the quality of service, the distinctiveness of the overall character, the level of maintenance and upkeep, and the price-to-quality ratio. Philadelphia has four Keyed hotels: one Two-Key (Four Seasons) and three One-Key (Rittenhouse, Guild House, Anna & Bel).
Center City is the best base for most visitors — it's walkable to every major shopping district (Rittenhouse, Fashion District, Jewelers' Row, Old City, Italian Market) and well-connected by SEPTA to Fishtown, Manayunk, and Chestnut Hill. The suburbs make more sense if your primary destination is King of Prussia Mall or Suburban Square, where a 25–30 minute drive to Center City adds friction.
